![]() Three humpback whales were tagged some weeks ago on the Silver Bank, the humpbacks' breeding grounds in the Caribbean between Dominican Republic and Turks and Caicos. The satellite tags are on the right side of the whales, just below the dorsal fin on this female ![]() ![]() The two males above were also tagged on their right side just below the dorsal. We are hoping someone in Bermuda might photograph these whales with their fluke IDs so that we have a permanent record of 'who' these whales are. The image below is the fluke ID of one of the tagged whales ![]() "This work was carried out by the National Marine Mammal Laboratory (Seattle, WA USA) and Atemar SA with written permission from the Ministry of Environment of the Dominican Republic. Support also came from Jean Lemire (Glacialis Productions, Canada) and Gene Flipse (Conscious Breath Adventures, USA)." ![]()
