It doesn't look like much, but for us whale watchers, it's significant. Thanks to a tip from Tom Sherrat on Knapton Hill, we watched three whales off South Shore from 9.35 to past noon. The three whales consistently had breathing cycles of 7-8 minutes and moved very slowly westwards about three miles of South Shore. From our secret vantage point on South Shore we were high enough to be able to get a good view of their behaviour over an extended period. No fluke IDs however. This is our fourth confirmed sighting of humpbacks this season, the first being in November.

Tomorow looks like a good day and we will be heading out on a boat to see if we can find some whales!
