2009 17 04 One of our two tagged whales heading up here changes course Print
Written by Andrew Stevenson

One of the two tagged whales (of the six) that had headed north-west in our direction appears to have changed course to the north and the Gulf of Maine. We'll have to wait for the next satellite fix to see whether they continue north or divert past Bermuda. They were following parallel courses about 30 nautical miles apart but it appears from this satellite fix as though they have come closer together.

The lower yellow thumbtack is where the whales were tagged, down on the Silver Bank, Dominican Republic and the upper tag is their relative position.
