This house on the east side of John Smiths Beach is normally in an idyllic position high on a cliff overlooking the beach. Not now. This was the last photo I took before the wave in the photo drenched me.


This is John Smiths Beach looking to the west. The life guard station is now flotsam.


The television screen says it all. 95 knot winds and 45 foot seas.With a five foot surge and the eye of the storm hitting us at its closest point at high tide the extreme hazard of wave damage is real.
