2010 09 20- Igor came in like a lion and went out like a lamb Print

It's weird, so soon after having those punishing waves and winds thrash our shores, it's back to normal. Well, sort of. For those who didn't have good moorings, there are a few boats on the rocks like this one at Devonshire Bay. But otherwise, we have nice sunny weather, the humidity is down, we have our electricity back and the work crews did an amazing job bulldozing and clearing first thing this morning. No deaths, no hurricane-related injuries.

Just twelve hours after the storm hit, Bermuda looks almost as beautiful as ever. The big difference is the state of the beaches on the South Shore. Most of the sand is now gone. It will take some months before that comes back, and the vegetation will have been burned brown by the salt spray.
